I wanted to share the highlights from our energetic and engaging members meetup yesterday:

1. Brief Introduction about TiE: We kicked off the meetup with an overview of TiE, its mission, and its impact on the entrepreneurial community.

2. Discussion about TiECon MP: The upcoming TiECon MP event was a hot topic. Members shared their enthusiasm and ideas, and we delved into what makes this event special.

3. Networking Opportunities: Our members had the chance to connect and network, fostering relationships that are crucial for our community’s growth.

4. Member Engagement: The energy in the room was palpable! Members were completely engaged, offering amazing suggestions and expressing their expectations for the TiECon event.

5. Formation of Committees: We discussed the various committees needed for TiECon MP. A few members have already volunteered, and we request more members to participate and contribute to making this event a grand success.

6. Mentor Sessions: We announced upcoming mentor sessions for both members and non-members. The response was overwhelmingly positive, and we’ll be sharing more details soon.

During the session, we had the privilege of hosting Himanshu Kohli Managing Director of India’s premier Multi-Family Office Firm, Client Associate. He shed light on the critical role of Private CFOs for family households. Wealth management is evolving, with alternative investments claiming a larger share of portfolios. Our focus is not only on wealth preservation but also on sustainable growth, all while minimizing risk.

Additionally, Mr. Avinash Kashyap highlighted Germany’s substantial investments— over 28,000 crores—in Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh over the past two decades. As India’s future shines brightly, effective wealth management remains paramount. We cannot afford to overlook tech-savvy, data-driven investment strategies.

Role of VC and Equity Investment in the growth of SME: This Event discusses the constraints for private equity financing of small and medium enterprises in developing economies. In addition to capital, private equity investors bring knowledge and expertise to the companies in which they invest. Through active participation on the board of directors or in partnership with management, private equity investors equip companies with critical improvements in governance, financial accounting, access to markets, technology, and other drivers of business success. Although private equity investors could help to create, deepen, and expand growth of small and medium enterprises in developing economies, the vast majority of private equity in such markets targets larger or more established enterprises. Technical assistance, when partnered with private equity, can unlock more investor commitments and considerably enhance the ability of small and medium enterprises in emerging markets to raise private equity capital. Technical assistance provides funding that allows private equity funds to extend their reach to smaller companies. Technical assistance can mitigate some level of risk and increase the probability of successful investments by funding targeted operational improvements of investee companies. Dedicated technical assistance facilities financed by third parties, such as development finance institutions, governments, or other parties, have emerged to fill this critical need.
